  • Individual therapy is a one-on-one process where we work together to explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. It’s a space for you to understand yourself, heal from pain, and work toward your goals. Sessions last 45 minutes.

  • Maternity therapy is a specialized form of support for individuals navigating the emotional and physical challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. It focuses on addressing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and the stress of adjusting to new parenthood. This therapy also supports individuals dealing with birth trauma, loss, and changes in their identity as a parent. Sessions last 45 minutes.

  • Couples therapy is a form of therapy where both partners work with a therapist to address relationship challenges, improve communication, and build healthier patterns of interaction. In our sessions, we’ll explore the dynamics between you and your partner, addressing issues such as trust, intimacy, conflict, and emotional connection. Sessions last an hour.

  • In the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. You can expect to discuss what brought you to therapy, any challenges or goals you have, and any past experiences you feel are important for me to know. We’ll also talk about how I work as a therapist, what therapy will look like, and how we can make our time together productive and comfortable for you.

  • No, I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t accept insurance. I can, however, provide a receipt for services (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • I believe therapy should be accessible, so I offer a limited sliding scale based on your financial situation. Availability for sliding scale spots is limited, so please inquire about options when booking.

  • At this time I am only offering telehealth (virtual) sessions. We will use a secure platform for our sessions.

  • No. While I specialize in areas like childhood trauma, intergenerational trauma, and maternity, I work with clients facing a wide range of concerns, from life transitions to perfectionism and more.

  • I use a combination of psychodynamic, trauma-infromed, and somatic therapy. This means we’ll explore your past experiences, unconscious patterns, and the mind-body connection to help you heal on a deeper level.

  • My approach is grounded in empathy, humor, and honesty. I use a blend of somatic, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed techniques to create a supportive space where you can confront difficult emotions and heal. I bring an anti-oppressive perspective that acknowledges the unique experiences of marginalized individuals, especially those dealing with intergenerational trauma.

  • Psychodynamic therapy focuses on exploring the unconscious mind, past experiences, and deep-rooted patterns. Somatic therapy, on the other hand, focuses on the connection between the body and mind, helping you tune into physical sensations to release trauma and emotional blocks. Both approaches can be used together for a more holistic healing process.

  • Somatic therapy works by addressing the connection between the mind and body. If you’ve experienced trauma or stress, it can manifest physically in your body (e.g., tension, pain, or discomfort).   • I primarily offer weekly therapy because this frequency helps provide consistent support, especially in the beginning stages of therapy. Weekly sessions allow us to build momentum and work through challenges more effectively. Once you start feeling better and have developed new coping strategies, we can explore the possibility of biweekly sessions. However, I believe that weekly therapy offers the most benefit, particularly for sustained progress and healing.

  • As a Black therapist, I bring a cultural understanding and awareness to our work that can make therapy more accessible and comfortable for clients from similar backgrounds. My lived experience as a Black person allows me to provide insight into issues of systemic racism, identity, and trauma in ways that are affirming and supportive.

  • Yes, I specialize in working with BIPOC, immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and non-traditional families/parents. I aim to create a safe, inclusive space where these communities can process their unique challenges and experiences, particularly those related to systemic oppression, mental health, and cultural identity.
